Technology is always changing and we embrace the challenge of keeping pace with it. To meet the goal of delivering premium services, we continually research and test new techniques.

We have to balance users to technology. There are often great breakthroughs in functionality, but it is completely worthless, if users don’t have the means to use it. We monitor statistics on users and their computers. We also make sure premium functionality degrades properly on computers with limited resources, so programs perform for everyone.

Solutions

Many of our recent projects have been RIA (Rich Internet Application) utilizing Adobe Flex. These applications are delivered via the Internet and the Flash player plug-in. Since Adobe Flash is incorporated into 99% of Internet enabled desktops and a wide range of other devices, these applications are accessible to everyone.

Hosted Applications and SaaS (Software as a Service) are very popular solutions for businesses of any size. It simply means that your business application is on a web server and accessed through the Internet.

Traditionally, custom software was built and loaded on a server in-house and accessed over your office network. You had costs to maintain the server and when you left the office, you left your application behind. With hosted applications, you have full access from anywhere and you can allow vendors or other stakeholders access, too. You decide what content is available to different groups with powerful security features.

When we're not working in Flex, we program primarily with PHP. Approximately 33% of all websites on the Internet incorporate PHP. PostgreSQL is our database of choice due to its advanced feature set. We also incorporate MySQL databases.

We do not operate any Microsoft web servers, nor do we program in ASP. Our goal is optimum security and reliability for all of the websites we host. For that reason we use FreeBSD and Apache on our servers. Apache is a very stable program used by more than 67% of servers on the Internet.
