We are a huge proponent of Open Source products. Apache, PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Asterisk and many other programs that are critical to our company are open source. We strongly encourage everyone to use Open Office, Firefox and Thunderbird. All of these programs have excellent functionality and dependability. We've written several articles for the Vancouver Business Journal touting open source software in the hope that more businesses will join the community.
Helping Other IT Professionals
One of the services we perform is assisting other professionals. We associate with others that do what we do and provide backup should they ever need a little help in a pinch.
Databases
We know and love databases. We've been designing and building them for years. We use a high degree of normalization and build for extensibility. Our preferred database is PostgreSQL, which allows us to write extensive functionality using PL/pgSQL.
